Her first adventure after high school was working for the U.S. Treasury Department in Washington, D.C., during WW2. Upon her return to Chicago, she married her handsome Stanley in 1945 and returned to work to help create her dream life. Stephanie was a devoted and exceptional employee of American Can Company until her retirement in 1980. She was passionately loyal and supportive of her entire extended family. Through gifts of spirit and generosity, she helped build the dreams of countless others. Stephanie has been a member of St. Mary Star of the Sea Parish since 1951 and was active in its Altar & Rosary Society for many years. She engaged exuberantly in her other 4 loves: photography, gardening, bowling and shopping. She bowled on a league for decades until she was 85. Stephanie touched hearts deeply and often; she had a curiosity and sociability that made everyone feel at home with her; and she had an amazing zest for new adventures. We are grateful that she is now Home again, with her family and her God. In lieu of flowers, please donate to St. Thomas Hospice, 119 East Ogden Ave, Suite 111, Hinsdale, IL, 60521, or to the charity of your choice in memory of her generous spirit. Funeral Monday 9:00AM from the WOLNIAK FUNERAL HOME 5700 S. Pulaski Rd. to St. Mary Star of the Sea Church for 9:30AM Mass. Entombment Resurrection Mausoleum. Visitation Sunday 3:00-8:00PM.
